Wild Yellowstone 2017
Thursday 15th June – Sunday 2nd July 2017

Day 1: Thursday 15th June 2017
We fly from London (Heathrow) to Jackson and transfer to our motel.
Overnight in Jackson – Antler Inn

Day 2: Friday 16th June 2017
After breakfast in Jackson we spend the day exploring around Jackson and the Grand Teton National Park. The park should be resplendent with the spring flowers. The Teton area is renowned for the show of Mules Ears, Arrowleaf Balsam Root and Lupines as well as many other species of plants.

Day 3: Saturday 17th June 2017
We make a pre-dawn start to photograph the Moulton Barn at sun up. We spend the remainder of the day visiting the Grand Teton area.

Day 4: Sunday 18th June 2017
We make an early start for dawn at the Moulton Barn, Oxbow Bend or Schwabachers Landing before we head north into Yellowstone National Park. Our route takes us past Coulter Lake and West Thumb to West Yellowstone.

Day 5: Monday 19th June 2016
We spend the full day exploring Yellowstone National Park. We will visit the Lower, Midway and Upper Geyser Basins, Norris Geyser Basin, The Madison, Firehole and Gibbon Rivers and many other sites during our stay here.

Day 6: Tuesday 20th June 2017
We spend the full day exploring the wonders of Yellowstone National Park. We will make a dawn start and visit the famous Tangled Creek in the early light to capture it at its very best.

Day 7: Wednesday 21st June 2017
We spend the full day exploring the wonders of Yellowstone National Park. During our stay in West Yellowstone we will arrange a visit to the Rodeo just south of town.

Day 8: Thursday 22nd June 2017
We spend the full day exploring Yellowstone National Park.

Day 9: Friday 23rd June 2017
We spend the morning visiting the Main Terrace at Mammoth, also drive the terrace route to visit Orange Spring Mound. The area should be in bloom with wild flowers. In the afternoon, we’ll drive north through the Lamar Valley to Cooke City.

Day 10: Saturday 24th June 2017
We spend our first day with a local wildlife photographer visiting his nest sites. Together with other opportunities, we’re hoping to see flickers, bluebirds and owls nests during our time in the mountains.

Day 11: Sunday 25th June 2017
We spend another day with a local wildlife photographer visiting his nest sites. We are hoping to see flickers, bluebirds and owls at their nests, along with other opportunities on our time in the mountains.

Day 12: Monday 26th June 2017
We spend another day with a local wildlife photographer visiting his nest sites. Together with other opportunities, we’re hoping to see flickers, bluebirds and owls at their nests during our time there.

Day 13: Tuesday 27th June 2017
We will spend all day in the Beartooth Mountains. As well as visiting Beartooth Pass, we’ll be exploring nesting locations and hunting for other wildlife including Mountain Goats.

Day 14: Wednesday 28th June 2017
We will spend all day in the Beartooth Mountains, visiting Beartooth Pass and exploring nesting locations and hunting for other wildlife including Mountain Goats.

Day 15: Thursday 29th June 2017
We will spend all day in the Beartooth Mountains. As well as visiting Beartooth Pass, we’ll be exploring nesting locations and hunting for other wildlife including Mountain Goats.

Day 16: Friday 30th June 2017
We spend the morning in the Beartooth Mountains. In the afternoon, we travel south through the Lamar Valley and over Dunraven Pass, a good location to see bears. We drive on through Hayden Valley and follow Yellowstone Lake south on our journey to Jackson.

Day 17: Saturday 1st July 2017
In the mid-morning, we head to the Airport to join our return flight to London Heathrow.

Day 18: Sunday 2nd July 2017
We arrive the next morning having lost 7 hours on our return journey.
