Icelandic Winter 2023
Sunday 26th February – Wednesday 8th March 2023

Day 1: Sunday 26th February 2023
You fly from London to Keflavik and transfer to our hotel in Southern central Iceland, a distance of 133kms.

Day 2: Monday 27th February 2023
We begin our exploration of Iceland with a visit to the Geysir area. We also visit the Gullfoss and Urridafoss waterfalls.

Day 3: Tuesday 28th February 2023
Our journey takes us east along the southern coast of Iceland to Vik. We explore Seljalansfoss, Skogafoss and the Black Beach and Vik area.

Day 4: Wednesday 1st March 2023
Our journey takes us to Jokulsarlon. En route we explore the wild landscape of Eidhraun and Skeidararsandur. We stop to visit Stjórnarfoss and Foss á síðu as well as Hofskirkja before continuing to Jokulsarlon arriving in time to explore the beach and lagoon in the evening light.

Day 5: Thursday 2nd March 2023
Today we have the option of a tour to the ice caves. For this we will use a specialist operator, there will be an additional charge of about $162 (2022 prices). After our tour we explore Jokulsarlon before heading to our hotel

Day 6: Friday 3rd March 2023
We spend time visiting the local area starting with visit the west of Hof. We will also spend time around Vesturhorn, photographing as many angles as we can. We visit Stokksnes to photograph the lagoon, for which there is a small admission charge. Hopefully the light will be good so we can explore the area in the best possible light.

Day 7: Saturday 4th March 2023
We spend time visiting the local area and, dependent on conditions, may revisit Vesturhorn, photographing as many angles as we can. We visit Stokksnes to photograph more of the lagoon, for which there is a small admission charge. Additionally, we will head north from Hof to capture the wild landscape north of Vesturhorn

Day 8: Sunday 5th March 2023
In the early morning we drive west retracing our steps as we reach Selfoss, our overnight stop. We will of course allow time to capture plenty of the exciting locations along the southern part of Iceland including another visit to the Black Beach at Vik.

Day 9: Monday 6th March 2023
We drive from Selfoss to the Snaefellsnes peninsular. This route takes us to northern Reykjavik and Borgarnes. We should arrive in plenty of time to allow us to explore the area around Budir before crossing the mountains to capture the evening light at Kirkjufell.

Day 10: Tuesday 7th March 2023
In the morning we drive west to Kirkjufell allowing time to photograph the waterfall and the mountain. We then head west to explore around the Snaefellsnes Peninsular returning to photograph Kirkjufell in the evening.

Day 11: Wednesday 8th March 2023
We make a prompt start for the drive back to Keflavik. Our route takes us through Borgarnes past Reykjavik and onto Keflavik Airport to join our flight back to London
