Here at Photoventures we have been visiting the park for more than 23 years and have made many visits during that time. This experience puts us in an excellent position to offer our customers the best advice on when and where to photograph in this most magnificent of National Parks. We know how to maximise your visit to enable you to see all the best areas at the best times for photography. This has been instrumental in discovering some iconic locations that our customers want to visit. Our time in Yellowstone will be used to maximise your photography and if the weather conditions are right we will make early morning starts to the finest dawn shoots. We will of course also be taking you to some of the sites that we have put on the photographic map, such as Tangled Creek. Bathed in autumn light with the changing colours, this is Yellowstone at its finest. With the weather often getting down to between minus 10 - 20ºC at this time of year, Yellowstone also offers magical conditions.

The tour will be centred around your visit to Yellowstone but will include visits to many best spots for photography. From Yellowstone, we head south to visit the breathtaking Grand Teton National Park. Our visit will include time spent exploring through the park at sites such as Oxbow Bend, String and Jenny Lakes. We will of course have dawn shoots at the Moulton Barn and evening at Schwabachers Landing as well as exploring many other exciting photographic sites in the area.

From here our tour takes us south into the heart of the Rocky Mountains through Flaming Gorge and Dinosaur National Parks. We will visit Aspen and climb the Independence Pass as well as Maroon Bells and Marble Canyon and McClure Pass all stunning photographic locations. From Montrose we drive south to Durango a route that offers some spectacular landscapes that come alive with the golden aspens and the mountain views such as that from the Dallas Divide. At Silverton you have the option to join the Durango & Silverton Railroad as it follows the spectacular valley of the Animas River. If the train is not for you then you can drive to Durango along the Million Dollar Highway where you may witness swathes of aspen covered mountainsides as far as the eye can see. This makes for superb photography. From Durango, we head to Chama giving you another opportunity to capture images of the nostalgic steam railroad at the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad as it climbs through the autumnal New Mexico and Colorado landscape to Antonito. From here we visit the Great Sand Dunes National Park to capture these massive Dunes in the evening light. Our tour ends with a return to Denver; however, we have one more highlight for you to photograph, the USAF Chapel at Colorado Springs. This magnificent, modern stainless steel and glass chapel offers fabulous photography both externally and internally. Its unique design of ribbed steel interspersed with modern stained glass makes it like no other and as such it is a must to photograph.

The Rocky Mountain Gold tour offers an extensive range of photography in some of the finest locations to be found anywhere. No visit to these areas will ever disappoint and this tour will leave you with many photographs and memories of an area that is one of the most sought after of locations to visit in the autumn.
